Volcanic Viewings

One day after the Soufriere Volcano erupted in St. Vincent, just a 20min flight away, we in Barbados experienced some serious ash fall.  It was reported that, accompanied by loud explosions, the volcano belched out smoke and ash up to as much as 1000ft high.
Having determined that the conditions had not yet deteriorated to our detriment and where the properties were located could still safely accommodate viewings, my clients and I ventured out.
Join me on my journeys on a day I call “Ash Saturday”.
For several days after the first eruption, my island home Barbados remained cloaked in shades of gray, as ominous clouds of dust loomed overhead.  Residents remained in their homes, with all windows and doors closed, in an effort to minimize the ash from invading their space.  Layers upon layers of ash covered the island, particularly in the north, enveloping vehicles, weighing down roofs and causing respiratory discomfort to many.
